
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from America. His most recognizable role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards as Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series (1980-1988) as well as was awarded the Emmy Award in 1985. In the series Blue Bloods, Selleck has appeared as Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. Since 2005, he has played the character of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief from a small town in New York City. Also, he's been featured in nine television films which are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck also played the role of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect, in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady (90). In addition, he has appeared in more than 50 other film and television roles since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was the recurring TV role of Monica Geller's love interest, Dr. Richard Burke in Friends, as Lance White (the likeable but foolish) on The Rockford Files and as A.J. Cooper at Las Vegas. He also played the lead part in the TV western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and endorser of advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
