tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th, 1976. He was raised in Southern California and attended Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in these games at the University of California. He led the team in football into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he tied a school bowl record with nine receptions. Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament in just a few months following. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was with the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. Then, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He never caught fewer than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
