Adele

Adkins was brought up by a single young mother in various working-class communities of London. Adkins loved listening to modern pop music as a child and learning how to play the clarinet and the guitar. She came across Etta an early-mid-century rhythm-and- blues singer, in her teens and began to pursue a career musician. While she honed her talents at a secondary school funded by the government for the performing arts a friend began posting songs Adkins composed and recorded onto the social networking site Myspace. Adkins was soon noticed by record companies and signed to a deal with XL Recordings in 2006.
